Talk about changed times
Last tuesday the Director National Intelligence testified before a Congressional Committee. During his testimony, and in response to questions, told our Congress that the CIA, an Executive Agency, had killed American citizens who were abroad. He said that they had done so after great deliberation and of course had got permission from the highest level(s) first.

One wonders who he called. What Judge approved this murder? Where was the Jury?

And did each Senator present leap up and demand arrest for the self-admitted murderer? Nope. Was it all over the news last week? Nope.

Our Government kills our citizens without the nicety of trial or verdict and not an eyelash flutters.

Times have changed.

4. The difference is my Government did not admit to killing those people in sworn testimony.
And it didn't happen last week. On this subject I prefer to live in the here and now - this is happening here with the Government we have in place at this minute, and it is happening now.

6. Openly admitting it probably seemed like a safe bet since many Americans
embrace torture & pay respect to war criminals.

I don't imagine anyone in Congress was particularly shocked by what Blair said.

The U.S. embraced torture & refuses to prosecute war criminals....admitting that 'Oh, by the way, we also assassinate Americans' wasn't much of a risk at all.

9. Utter public apathy when the Government is murdering its own people is hard to understand.
