hmmmm, lead-in to story on Sandford on NPR
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 08:59 AM by WannaJumpMyScooter
very interesting that they mention 3 other "high-profile" marital affair cases in the intro.... all Dems Edwards, Spitzer, McGreevey

here is the quote...

"Of all the cases of political scandal involving marital infidelity in high places in recent times, John Edwards, Elliot Spitzer, James McGreevey, one stands out not for what the politician did, but for what the politician's wife did not do..."

and it goes on to describe and push Jenny Sandford's book.

now, i know those are high-profile cases, and they are not identified as Democrats, but.... ? does this strike anyone else as odd>?

Okay, not odd any more from NPR, I suppose.

sorry, forgot to put the link

1. This isn't what you asked, but...

...I would note that whoever wrote that lead-in missed another parallel: the other three cases are unlike the Sanford case in that none of the politicians remains in office. McGreevey and Spitzer resigned, while Edwards was not in any public office when the scandal came to light.

Mark Sanford, of course, has shown amazing chutzpah in the worst sense, as anyone covering his press conferences knows. Given what I've read in reviews of the Jenny Sanford memoir, he has long showed a decidedly shameless streak. She's well rid of him.

On edit: Savvy NPR listeners will nail the station on that particular lead-in. You may depend on it.
