Poll question: Sarah isn't serious about running for POTUS.
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 12:06 AM by MUAD_DIB
She is running defense for Mitt Romney. I wonder if the FOX job is payment for the act itself.

Her TEABAG insanity will make Mitt seem all the more reasonable to take the GOP candidacy.

He already did it in Massachusetts. Acting Governor Jane Swift was forced out of running and he stepped in to be the candidate.

It's called bait and switch.

2. It's hard telling what she's up to,
but whatever it is, it can't be good.

3. She has her own agenda
The last thing she would ever be is a team player, she's going to be on the general election ballot rather she gets the Republican nod or not.

4. Too early to tell
If the morons manage to coalesce into a political party, then she will definitely run 3rd ticket.

A run for the GOP is seriously in doubt. My own feeling is that while the power brokers would love to bring all the lunatics back into the fold for one more election day, they realize she and Toad would be hard to handle if she got rigged into office somehow and would do whatever they had to in order to discredit her before she got anywhere close to the nomination.

5. she is one of those "God wants me to be successful" types
I have no doubt that she has convinced herself that she is chosen by God to lead the world.

8. First and foremost, she's a grifter.
She'll aim for whatever will fetch her the most money.

9. I've gone back and forth on this one
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 01:30 AM by comrade snarky
She's arrogant enough to run but is she dumb enough to try?

I mean it's obvious she's in this for the money but is she smart enough to realize how badly it would go for her? Which will win this fight, the dumb or the overconfidence?

I can't even begin to predict.

Edited to add:
But I'm quite sure she aint shilling for Mittens. Sara is all about Sara and wouldn't be interested in any conspiracy that didn't swirl around how awesome she is.

10. It's not "Is she dumb enough to try"!
We know the Republican base is stupid enough to do anything she says!

11. The repub base may be
But anyone who looks at her polling would tell her not to try it.

CBS Poll from January

The question for me goes like this.

Is she going for the money and planning to take what she can and sail off to easy street? If she's smart, then yes, that's exactly what she's doing.

Or is she arrogant enough to believe the press from her own blinded supporters and think she could win a national election? That's just stupid.

I cant judge those ratios anymore, it's avarice VS arrogance in a shell that cant come up with a creative answer to "What newspapers do you read?". Trying to out think her based on logic and what's in her own self interest just don't work. I've got no tools to predict what direction she's gonna go.

The only prediction I'd make is that she isn't going away because that ego has to be fed.

12. There's inaccuracies built into that poll -
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 04:36 AM by RaleighNCDUer
consider all the repubs who are saying 'no' who currently favor other repubs but who will undoubtedly support her is she's the last one standing, and the all the dems who are saying 'yes' as they think that would guarantee a dem win if she ran.

A more accurate reading would come from: Would you like to see Sarah Palin as President? THAT would sort it out much better.

EDIT: Frankly, she scares the shit out of me because if she DID get elected she would not even have the experienced repub politicos keeping her on track - even Bush was restrained somewhat by the party. She's not a republican -she's a tea bagger, and that is essentially a revolutionary movement which means they don't give a crap about the future of the nation or their party - only their ideological goals. Makes them, and her, dangerous.
