I thought we had surely seen the worst presidential candidate in our nation's history when we saw
George W. Bush, poster boy for shallow, ignorant and arrogant, smirk his way through two elections and eight years of the most incompetent administration since at least Grant.

I was wrong.

Lil' Sarah is apparently running for the presidency of the United States of America; the most powerful position on the face of the earth.

This woman is not just the most transparently stupid person ever to be seriously considered as a candidate for either party. She is apparently totally devoid of even a vestigial sense of shame.

She absolutely imploded on national TV when she was unable to answer one of Katie Couric's "ambush" questions: "What do you read?" That would have seriously embarrassed most people. Instead, the Palin camp simply blamed Couric and plowed ahead, giving almost daily corroboration of America's first impression: "Sarah Palin is an idiot!"

When she was linked to a minister who took credit for defeating a witch in an African village and to the secessionist Alaskan Independence Party, she just smiled, winked, complained about Barack Obama's minister and started repeating "pals around with terrorists" 24/7.

John McCain's staff apparently had to INSIST that she stay away from the podium at his concession speech as she was poised to launch her 2012 campaign that night. Apparently, a total absence of class is OK in a Republican candidate.

She quit halfway through her term as Alaska's governor and then simply called a press conference to announce that she had not quit.

She routinely sputters through minutes of non sequiturs and run-on sentence fragments in answering the simplest questions. If Giuliani's sentences all consist of "noun, verb and 9-11", Palin's usually feature "freedom, family values, a smile, a wink and You Betcha".

This weekend, having rented herself out to the Teabagger Nation event in Nashville, she first ignorantly criticized President Obama for using a teleprompter and then got caught reading from her hand in response to "pre-screened" questions.

No one I have ever known could continue to brazenly spew such patent nonsense after having been embarrassed in front of the entire world so many times. But, the difference is that Sarah has never been embarrassed. There must be a few blank spaces in her double helix where those genes should be parked that let us know when we have "shown our ass" in public

Despite her pretense of being a "Christian", her arrogant shamelessness is likely due to her amorality. Not "immorality"---that would mean she recognized that right and wrong exist, but simply chose to behave "wrongly". "Amoral" is what you call someone who just doesn't think in terms of "right" and "wrong". They're only concerned with what works or what they can get away with.

That's our lil' Sarah. But, we'd better stop tolerating all the hate she spews; stop allowing her disciples to worship her without being called out as the unAmerican simpletons they are. She is not funny anymore. Her followers are not harmless fools. A Palin administration could make us pine for the "good old days" of Bush and Cheney.

1. amazing, isn't it?
When Reagan was a presidential candidate, I thought we would never get a President more moronic than him. Then George W. Bush ran for president, and I realized we had a guy even stupider than Reagan, but I thought no future presidential candidate could possibly be as moronic as him.

Now we have Sarah Palin, stupider than Reagan and Bush, and I'm beginning to wonder how much stupider our presidential candidates will be in the future.

4. CorpAmerica is promoting Palin because they want the republican candidate to lose.
Edited on Mon Feb-08-10 12:43 AM by rhett o rick
They have their money on the Democratic Party. They know the public wants change, so they will give party change. They hope that's enough. Policy change is another matter. But CorpAmerica is counting on (counting their billions) the fact that their money will influence the Democratic party to be corp friendly.

CorpAmerica does not (at this time)want a strong republican party which would move the Democratic Party to the left. Marginalize the republican party and eliminate the left.
