Pink Floyd with Roger Waters are suppose to play the Super Bowl
Half Time show next year. Did anyone hear the rumor about that, I find it hard to believe. It would be so nice but I don't know could there be any truth to it. Time will tell I feel like I'm getting Brain Damage thinking about it. I hope it's true I would love to see them In the Flesh but I would have to be a Lunatic to believe they would stoop this low just for the Money.

1. Just as long as they don't play Comfortably Numb
Gilmore has three or four-part harmony on the chorus to that song, and Waters did it with about thirty people in Berlin...I always saw it as the confession of one tortured soul.

20. That would be a great song
Especially if they float the inflatable pig over the crowd.

Wish You Were Here would be good too, but I can't really think of a Pink Floyd song with lyrics that would really be good for a Super Bowl crowd.

I would like to see them play Astronomy Domine during a fireworks display, though.

3. As much as I'd love to see it, I'm not holding my breath.
They sounded great when they did the Live 8 thing, but even then, Gilmour didn't sound too interested in doing it again. And while they did manage to find 4 songs they could play in 20 minutes for that show, the Super Bowl gig is even shorter. And without Rick Wright, would they do it at all?

4. I'd like to believe it but I
Don't see Roger Waters going along with selling out that.

10. well, they did play together at Live 8 back in 2005
Apparently rehearsals were a bit uncomfortable, but they seemed to get along on stage. Still, I don't think they had any plans for doing it again, and I'd be a bit surprised if it was the Super Bowl that got them back together.

11. They could play "Astonomy Domine" though.
But I doubt the validity of this rumour. They don't need the money and it's too short a period of time for them to play.

Syd and Rick can't be there so it doesn't matter anyway...

24. There's not much of a chance to hearing Scarecrow either.
All of those drunk football people listening to actual art music would be absurd.

7. Wha??
PF is my second favorite band, so I'd like to think I know a little about them. I can't for the life of me think of any reason for them to do this. Waters and Gilmour are hardly friends anymore. They got together for charitable reasons only last time.

Of course, I don't see why McCartney or the Who did it either. Springsteen, OK, it's an American sporting event. I doubt if any of these other guys even know the rules to the game. Townshend was quoted today as acknowledging that the fans were there to see the game, not them. Still, he said it was nice to be a part of the spectacle. Waters would chafe at the prospect.

8. Why so many geezer bands?
Aren't they worried about younger viewers?

19. They are terrified of nipples.
The older and more washed up the less risk of a boobie or nipple.

12. But Rick Wright is dead. It wouldn't really be Pink Floyd.
He wrote a lot of their songs and sang backing vocals throughout most of Dark Side Of The Moon.

It would be as much of a reunion as The Who playing without Keith Moon or John Entwistle.

13. I'd rather see Gilmour performing Master Barrett's songs
as he's been doing the past few years than see a fake Floyd reunion.

14. That could work. Weren't he and Barrett friends before Pink Floyd?
I seem to remember reading that somewhere.

22. I don't think they would play without Wright.
Some of the bands like The Who will go on still no matter who dies but the Floyds wouldn't play without one of their main members being dead.

Instead they are attempting to get several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a Pict.

18. Maybe they should dig up John & George and reunite the Beatles.
Wouldn't be any more sad & pathetic than Roger Daltrey singing about tribulations of being a teenager at 65.

26. This is wonderful -- but I have a feeling it is a rumor. Waters especially caused so many problems
with the rest of the guys, so it is hard to imagine. But oh how wonderful it would be! And to see the pig flying over the stadium!
