What was the deal with the "Tebow and his mom" ad?
Was the idea that God wants you to bring your mother down with a blindside tackle?

1. Good thing Dobson wasn't around in JC's time
They probably would have done a commercial with Jesus nailing His mother Mary to a cross.

2. Or just stopping her short of a first-down with a clothesline tackle.

You'd have thought they'd at least have had Dobson come in as the ref and throw a flag!

4. Indeed.
So was the one with the dog(which also teaches us that we need to be much warier of what our pets may be planning).

The "Doritos Gym Ninja" add was just disturbing.

The message seemed to be "buy our chips and somebody will kill you."

5. Maybe the question folks should be asking...
... is just who funded this ad and what are they really about? How many people here are familiar with James Dobson and "Focus on the Family", whose website addy was flashed on the screen at the end of the commercial? A quick Google search will be very illuminating. And this article sums up why the millions spent on slick ads and marketing by RW hate groups like Focus on the Family is so dangerous:

7. If you just saw the ad, you'd think it was just about getting along with your parents
It's a way of using an innocuous teaser to get people to look at something they would never otherwise looked at.

We could possibly also use this approach(but for good, rather than evil).

Y'know...I just thought of something...maybe Tebow didn't actually MEAN to tackle his mother.

Maybe he was just walking up to her on the streets of Colorado Springs and tripped because the city is no longer maintaining the sidewalks after the municipal levies were defeated.

8. I muted the Tebow ad and paid no attention
but aside from that, I was pleasantly surprised. These were overall some of the funniest, most creative, least juvenile and least sexist Super Bowl ads ever. Yeah, there were a few duds or nuisances, but for the most part real cleverness, taste and fun prevailed.

I think my favorite was the Boost Shufflin' Crew. That one made me laugh the most, anyway, because of my memories of the Super Bowl Shuffle and how the guys were at least willing to have a joke on themselves and their age.

14. they got their moneys worth...
only because of all the hype leading up to it (mostly due to the opposition drawing attention to it).

it people just ignored it originally, NOBODY would have given the ad a second though or knew what it was about.
