Mitch Landrieu (D) Wins in a Landslide in New Orleans

Landrieu Wins in New Orleans

Louisiana Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu (D) won the New Orleans mayoral race in a landslide and will avoid a runoff.

New Orleans Times-Picayune: "When he takes office May 6, Landrieu will become the city's first white chief executive since his father, Moon Landrieu, left the job in 1978. Early analysis shows that Mitch Landrieu's victory owed to widespread crossover voting by African-Americans, who make up two-thirds of the city's residents... His victory cements the Landrieu clan's status as Louisiana's preeminent political dynasty."

7. he was elected fair and square
(unlike another i can name in recent history) and as long as the majority of the state is not his relatives, then it can't be nepotism...
