Body of missing Carthage infant reportedly found

The body of Eddie Salazar Jr., an 8-month-old boy reported missing Thursday night by his father, might have been found east of Carthage, Mo., two southwest Missouri TV stations reported this afternoon.

Carthage police dispatchers declined to confirm the report. But Carthage police would be issuing a press release soon, a dispatcher said.

Police arrested Eddie Salazar Sr., the baby’s father, on Friday night, charging him with filing a false police report. He told police that two masked men had forced their way into his house, beat him and kidnapped his son.

That initial report prompted authorities to issue an Amber Alert on Thursday night for the 8-month-old boy.

This amber alert has been all over local news. TV news just confirmed it was this baby they found. Dad lied. Sounds like he killed him.

6. You live in Carthage?
Cool. I have been there many times. One of these days I am going to visit the Precious Moments museum. :)

But yes, this is such a sad story. What's up? Did Dad kill him?

7. Sadly, probably yes. That's usually the truth that comes out
after these "kidnapped" stories. Dad beats/shakes/throws/slaps kid to stop him from crying, panics and tries to cover-up.

Poor baby. Are there other kids in the home who who may be suffering abuse ?
