I didn't ask if you thought he was a crusty old curmugeon.
That's beside the point

Did he tell the truth as we see it?

3. He's crossing the line right now
Bad talking the Dems.

Tweety wants to know why the Dems don't stand up to Bush. Um... Hello? The MSM (Tweety included) would tear them apart, that's why.

12. So?
Why should they shake in their boots because some Repub might call them liberal or something? Showing weakness and fear is not the way to fight bullies.

4. I Found Him The Most Candid And Genuine
If he seemed passionate it's because he realizes the urgency of the situation that this country finds itself in. This country IS in crisis and he seems fed up w/ the politicians speaking euphamistically and in circumlocutions. He was honest and straightforward and didn't hide his emotional tenor.

If your house was on fire, would you calm walk around explaining that you had "A combustion situation in your domicile that might need immediate attention"?

5. I did.
Gravel was pissed off about our country's direction, and he was by-God going to let everyone know about it. I found it very refreshing.

7. He seemed the most un-politician
Kind of like Stockdale with a better grasp of the issues. I didn't know what he was like, and he got my attention quickly.

Made Kucinich's previous debates sound much less strident.

11. He's the least politically calculated........
I find nothing wrong with that. And his candor (and Kucinich) just tends to make the other Dems look cautious and timid.
