Just look what happened in Massachusetts - Scott Brown, strikingly handsome, pulled many voters in because of his good looks alone. The comments I overhead make me believe that was a crucial component of his qualifications, at least to some voters. Mitt Romney was another recent example - some folks I know voted based almost entirely on his physical appearance, without bothering to consider what he stood for.

It's all show biz these days.
