Why are we worried just about "U.S. "Targeted Killings" of American Citizens "?
As far as I can tell, the CIA and other unknown entities we sponsor have been running amok carrying out illegal actions in Pakistan and Gawd knows where else.

We already know that the FBI and NSA and "ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ" (pick some letters), have been collecting every bit and byte of data sent out by humans and sea monkeys for all we know.

The fact that we have gotten wind of "Targeted Killings" is no accident IMHO. It gives people something to focus on and pontificate about while beings in the shadows skulk by with nefarious plans and schemes.

I'm just a twee bit cynical.....just a twee bit mind you.

1. Even Reagan banned assassination. Of anyone. What have we become?
Executive Order 12333
United States Intelligence Activities
December 4, 1981

2.11 Prohibition on Assassination.

No person employed by or acting on behalf of the United States Government shall engage in, or conspire to engage in, assassination.

6. deniability is the trump card
and beyond that, the fact is that during the 1980's, the US was promoting, encouraging and sending military agents to assist in the mass-murder of hundreds of thousands of civilians in Central America.

The CIA has never assassinated anyone? This is SOP for them since the early 1960's.

pretty seeing our nation on a self-destruction binge. :P

9. If it is done with the assistance and approval of the Pakistani government
is it still illegal? Under those circumstances it sounds like an act of war. I really don't know what the answer is - it appears to me that fighting global terrorist groups in parts of the world with no government may fall into a gray area in regards to the rule of war and international law.

11. It's a shame the media doesn't spend a little time on the untargeted killings.
The Americans within our borders kicked to the side of the road without access to medical care. More than a dozen 9/11s every year and the media doesn't bother to cover it.
