1. bigtree has a fantastic thread showing several Republicans that voted against the Stimulus that are now trying to take credit for it in their communities.
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x76485912. Senator Shelby has put a hold on over 70 Obama nominees because of 2 pork earmarks that Obama is blocking for Alabama.
http://www.publicintegrity.org/blog/entry/1932/3. And Tom Tancredo (R-Colorado) addresses the Teabagger convention and says that Obama wouldn't have won if Jim Crow laws would've still been in effect:
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/2010/02/05/2010-02-05_tea_party_convention_starts_with_racially_incendiary_remark_literacy_tests_to_vo.htmlWe need to keep these three stories in the news...
The first two point out the extreme hypocrisy with respect to spending and the deficit that the GOP always gets away with, and they do so in plain ways that the average low-information voter can understand.
The third one is a story that, if it can get legs and stay in the mainstream, will force Republican candidates to either distance themselves completely from the Teabagger "movement" (thus pissing off the rabid teabaggers) or embracing it (thus pissing off independents).
We must not let these stories go away. It needs to be a drumbeat... every freaking day... no let up.
Make Shelby's life miserable... and if he won't relent, then do recess appointments. Screw 'em if they complain, just point out the 100+ recess appointments that Bush did.
Make all of the Republicans in the first story lives miserable too. Don't relent. It's political gold to show them at the ribbon-cuttings along side with their "No" vote on the Stimulus.
