2. but he did lay groundwork for his support to attacking Iran
saying that we all know that they are working on developing nukes. His answer appeared kinda weak on that one.

6. Obama just lost a lot of votes
Dennis and Mike destroyed him. A very weak performance.

mainstream electable candidates and some delusional nut with an axe to grind?

13. You know,

I was going to point to the debate transcript, linked on MSNBC but it's incomplete. I cuts off like, maybe half way through the whole thing.

Basically, Kucinich addressed Obama and challenged his stance on Iran. Then Gravel jumped in and brought up that America is the most militarily powerful country in the world and we have nukes galore and why are we so scared of other countries? Then he asked Obama something like: "Just who do you want to nuke?".

Skinner's line was Obama's reply.

the end

7. Probably the most human moment
of the evening for me.

I'm looking forward to more debates. I want to see Kucinich and Gravel poke some sticks at this damned, media/money driven beast called political campaigning. I want Obama and Clinton and Edwards and Dodd and Richardson to get real with American people. I'm tired of looking at these people through the myopic eyes of the Washington D.C. punditocracy.

11. I'm glad that Kucinich and Gravel are in these debates
at the very least- sharpens up our eventual nominee for the presidential debates.... at the best- makes someone stop and think about things for a while...

20. At worst, independents and disillusioned R's will scurry back to the
GOP when they see these goofballs say things like "we don't have any enemies!" and "you want to start war with Iran!" God, PLEASE let's limit the debates in the future to those who have a prayer--please...

12. Agree 100%
but it will take the Dennis Kucinich and Mike Gravel's to change the terms of the debate. The others will be forced to bite.

That was my favorite quote of the night. It just sums up so much for me.

19. The point about "war as a policy tool" is a valid one.
It does nobody any good to declare "War on Terror" or "War on Drugs" and make the whole notion of war banal.

23. WAR is about KILLING...it depends on who is doing the most dying
that makes it a "policy decision" as "war on terror or war on drugs."

Is that what you were saying?

Who surrenders? How can it EVER be done? After we suspend habeas corpus and do a lot of killing - INCLUDING the 'allies' of the 'enemy' - how can it ever end?
