President Obama placated her by calling the Democratic Party the "party of business" and then he went on to dis the New Deal.

Two peas in a pod if you ask me.

11. The Democrats are.
That is an exchange that can be used against the loyal but ignored and chastised Democratic voter that voted for change.

12. Yes, they did. Shame on them, no different than Fox cutting
away from the president.

15. I don't know how long they cut away for before they went back because I
turned to CNN when they did it. Shuster made a little snide comment about what the President said when they cut away and I didn't hang around to see what else they did. I was kind of shocked by it actually.

17. And blogs, too, he said. That way, instead of being spun by the Corporate Media, we can be
spun by the Corporate Government.

18. Did you hear what the hell he said because it doesn't sound like it.
Edited on Wed Feb-03-10 12:05 PM by Pirate Smile
He said too much focus was on the politics of everything & how the politicians and political parties are effected. Cable News and a lot of blogs focus on the political implications and don't focus on how it effects the AMERICAN PEOPLE. He said to turn off cable news and talk to your constituents back home. Focus on helping them and stop focusing just on what the political implications are.

You are bashing the President for saying that.

19. I can't find a transcript yet, but I'll assume (and hope) I was wrong. If the Dems listen
to their constituents and if they're serious about acting on what they hear, we'll get Medicare for All.

Confirmation in 2009 that over half of Americans support non-profit national health insurance

“Americans are more likely today to embrace the idea of the government providing health insurance than they were 30 years ago. 59% of Americans say the government should provide national health insurance, including 49% who say such insurance should cover all medical problems.” — bolding was added.

The Question. “Should the government in Washington provide national health insurance, or is this something that should be left only to private enterprise?”

Poll results of February 1, 2009:
32% Private enterprise
59% Government
9% Don’t know

See the complete New York Times/CBS News poll which provides the above confirmation that over half of Americans want national health insurance.
