22. He oversaw the establishment of the
movie rating's system.

He was also a big supporter of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

Back in the 1980s he opposed allowing people to use VCRs to record TV shows and movies because he said Hollywood would go under....hmmmm....the movie industry went on to many years of blockbuster earnings.

7. He was on Chris Matthews recently, talking about the war and how
awfully similar it was to Vietnam. Must have been a quick/sudden illness.

15. Isn't he the head of the nefarious MPAA?
Edited on Thu Apr-26-07 06:04 PM by devilgrrl
Just saw the documentary "This Film Has Not Yet Been Rated" about what a slimy organization the MPAA is. The people on their panel are kept secret under the guise that they're average family folks when their really a bunch of middle aged film industry insiders with adult children. Totally homophobic, anti-sexuality, pro-violence, blood & Guts.

FU Jack Valenti.

28. I really disagree
He was an unelected cultural bullshit protector who was severely irresponsible with his power.

Sorry for his nearest and dearest that he died, but "one of the good guys" is hardly how I'd describe him.
