Why can't I believe them any more: Al-Qaeda ‘certain’ to attack
I just don't believe these people any more, They have lied to us so many times, told us that the boogie man is going to get us and kept the US in a constant state of fear.

This is what the terrorist want, it for the US to live in fear. Terror = Fear, ding, ding ding.

Either give us specifics or keep your mouth shut and work behind the scenes to stop what you can. Damn.

Al-Qaeda ‘certain’ to attack U.S. within months
Intelligence officials say terror group is intent on ‘a large-scale operation’

The Obama administration's top intelligence officials on Tuesday described it as "certain" that al-Qaeda or its allies will try to attack the United States in the next six months, and they called for new flexibility in how U.S. officials detain and question terrorist suspects.

The officials, testifying before the Senate intelligence committee, also warned of increased risk of cyber-attacks in the coming months, saying that the recent China-based hacking of Google's computers was both a "wake-up call" and a forerunner to future strikes aimed at businesses or intended to cause economic disruption.

"Al-Qaeda maintains its intent to attack the homeland — preferably with a large-scale operation that would cause mass casualties, harm the U.S. economy or both," Director of National Intelligence Dennis C. Blair told the committee in a hearing convened to assess threats against the country.

What's funny about this article on MSNBC.com is that you can't hardly find it on the Washington Post site but it is headline on MSNBC.com.

Chicken little running around or real?

:scared: :sarcasm: :scared:

2. Translation: "The 'Al Qaeda' brand is starting to lose its punch...
so we'll have to reinforce it with a few highly hyped, 'real' terror attacks. The Empire extends its deepest apologies to those who will die in this effort."

5. It's true. Also, we may have a volcano erupt in Ohio, a tidal wave in Kansas,
or who knows what other kind of catastrophe. Anything COULD happen, right?

These damned idiots should just keep their stupid mouths shut.

6. I'm Convinced The Corporate Media Wants An Attack
Since teevee ratings, especially for the cables has been in the shitters, nothing brings the eyeballs and the ratings than a good catastrophe. Look how fast they flew into Haiti to seize the moment...and then vanished when the real recovery effort is getting underway. I also think part of this is the New York lean...many who were scared shitless on 9/11 and still are afraid of their shadows.

Remember, this country has always had to have a boogie man (more specifically the rushpublicans). If it wasn't Nazis then it was Commies and now A-rabs. Why else does a show like "24" become so popular...

8. I think if you reads Blair's statement
. . . and the NYT http://www.nytimes.com/2010/02/03/us/politics/03intel.html?hpw you will see that the "intent" and "priority" are certain, not an attack.

13. The Today Show led with this story
I'm putting a reminder on my calendar right now for August 3, 2010: We are "certain" to have at the very least an attempted attack by al-Qaeda or its allies on the United States. That's "certain" as in it will happen.

I wonder if the "top intelligence officials" will resign in disgrace should their prognostication not come to pass?
