Kirk is running away with the GOP Senate nomination a,d I';m calling it now for him as he leads by 43 points.

Andy McKenna leads by 8 points for the GOP governor nod, but it's McKenna 28, Ryan 20 in a wide field, so it could sitll go any which way.

In more interesting news, David Miller leads Raja Krishnamoorthi by less than one half of one percent in the race for the Democratic nomination for State Comptroller. I voted for Raja. YMMV.

35. Same here.
I am glad that the homophobic shit he was spreading, which originated as a hate site posing as a "Hillary" site, did not work. I am also glad that the GOP as a result of that homophobic bigotry displyed by Martin that he was no longer an official candidate.

I am always glad to see bigotry defeated.

Some like Giannoulias some like Hoffman. My guess is we all voted for Preckwinkle for county board president and that is a HUGE deal here. There is a lot of money in the cook county budget and a slimy dem did a lot of damage as current president and now he lost in 4th place. :)

56. Arguments can be made on both sides
Giannoulias has won a statewide elections before, so his chances look pretty good against MArk Kirk in November for Obama's old seat, and that race is set.

The governor's race is still up in the air. Quinn took over from Blago and is currently leading, but that lead has been slipping for the past hour. Dillard now leads on the GOP side, but it's been all over the place all night.

I'm sitting here with a complete lack of information locally. It is making me nuts and the only thing keeping me sane is DU's current information. I just got off the phone with a local candidate that has been driving from precinct to precinct getting totals. Now there is some dispute about whether THOSE totals are good or not...

This is gonna be a very long night and you guys are a beacon of sanity. Keep it up!

76. Down Goes Junior Hastert!
Just saw he got his butt kicked trying to win his dad's old seat. Could be a real good omen for Bill Foster.

79. Hey Mo...I'm Not Feeling So Bad Tonight...
While I expect the corporate media talking heads to talk up Kirk as the "next Brown", you gotta think the teabaggers aren't too happy. I'm still hoping Dillard pulls it out.

If we can get a similar or better Democratic turn out in November, I think we'll be just fine...

:hi:

83. seemed like an awful lot of bond issues and tax increase were approved.
i remember watching results of the last election, and it seems like close to zero of these things passed. but watching them go by on tv last night, seemed like the vast majority passed.
guess people are happier than we think.
