The annual threat assessment came out today, and we're all gonna die...
top o' the list is Al Quaeda. That they have changed their tactics from flying planes into buildings to stuffing some guys shorts with gunpowder means that they are even more dangerous than ever. Beware the terroristic sneakers and shorts and the sneaky bastards
who pretend not to be able to set them off.

Also up there is North Korea, which may or may not have a nuclear weapon and rocket that works, but be very, very afraid in case maybe it gets one of each sometime in the future.

Iran, too, but, as with North Korea, they might have nukes, or they might not, and we might know how many, or we might not, but we can't tell you because if we don't know we won't admit it and if we do know, it's a secret.

And them hackers. Looks like some evil gummint sent out all those Viagra and Nigerian spams just to soften us up and let down out guard while they are digging into the innards of Bank of America, the Pentagon and Google.

It's the hackers-- they're gonna take us all down!

To fight all this, of course, we need a lot more than the 700-800 billion a year we're already sinking into "defense."

(Trust me, it takes billions to find a guy who can't set his underwear on fire.)

3. Al Quaeda? Hell, I know 3 or 4 DUers that, together, could kick all their sorry asses.
And still have time to kick some hacker ass.

Before morning break.

And not break a sweat.

9. As an American who Works for a Living,
My personal threat assessment:

1) The Republican Party

(followed closely by)
2)The "Centrist" Democratic Party

The two threats listed above are working together to Take it ALL.

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

10. Good call
But my threat assessment is still their bosses. New tools can be found, but the wielder is still in charge.

13. Of course, you are correct.
How else could the obvious consistency of Economic, Military, and Foreign Policy be achieved through changing administrations?
