Most inadvertently funny LTTE in long time.

For the third time this month, my neighborhood lost electric power from SDG&E. (San Diego Gas & Electric)

Shortly after the last outage, I called SDG&E to report the loss. The young woman on the other end assured me she knew of the outage to me and 1,599 other unhappy customers. I asked if I would receive a rebate for the three outages, and she replied, “We will not charge you for the power you did not use during the outages.”

Words cannot express my joy at this largesse.

4. Damn socialist electric companies

Now a good capitalistic electric company would not only charge our friend Paul for cutting back on his electrical use, they'd hit him with a surcharge for calling the company, and probably jack his monthly connection fee by a couple of bucks a month for being such a grump. And he'd be happy to pay it, just like he pays his monthly cable and cell phone bills.
