Our insurance bill just went up by 39%!
We're out here in Southern Cal, and have Anthem/Blue-Cross/Blue-Shield/Whatever, and have a family plan, because my hubby has his own business. Yikes!

1. Maybe CA will do the right thing and pass single payer? They're getting
close, but that doesn't help you now.

2. Why are they doing it now? Arnold vetoed this bill the last time it got to his desk.
Is there any reason to think they can override his veto this time?

5. Yikes!
They are gouging us; that's for sure. We compensated for the increase by increasing the dedubtible. Gawd, I hope that single-payer passes in this state!

4. I'm exercising my civil disobedience and not carrying insurance at the moment.

I live in Boston, and MA is a mandatory healthcare state. Got tired of paying premiums (almost $600/mo).....I have 2 years to go before Medicare......

7. From here forward, If Obama's RomneyCare passes,
every time these kinds of rate hikes happen anywhere, the anger will be directed toward our Party. We are tying our political fortunes to the future bahavior of the Insurance cartel. Political suicide it is.

12. But you're free!
Small price to pay to have access to the greatest healthcare system in the world! (Except that it isn't)

:sarcasm:

But you're right. If RomneyCare goes nationwide it'll seriously damage the Democratic Party.

14. "tying our political fortunes to the future behavior of the Insurance cartel"
To the extent that we tie our future to Obama, yes.

We need to stand up and tell the world, "Sorry. Very, very sorry. It was a distressing time and this guy looked pretty good to us. Honest mistake. Sorry."

15. I think we're going to see some individual candidates
do that, but not the Party as a whole.

I think we're already seeing some take a more populist turn than Obama, particularly on the economy. For example, the opposition to Bernacke I think was about some people distancing themselves.

17. Join the Medicare for All Calfornia movement!
Google "Calfornia Nurses".

Private Health Insurance is a clear and present danger. It must go!
Obama's bill mandates that you purchase that defective product and gives trillions to the industry that sells it.
