Rip Torn appears in Conn. court on burglary charge

(02-01) 10:27 PST Litchfield, Conn. (AP) --

Rip Torn is expected to post $100,000 bond Monday after making an initial court appearance on burglary and firearms charges in Connecticut.

The "Men in Black" actor is accused of breaking into a bank in his hometown of Salisbury on Friday with a loaded revolver while intoxicated.

Defense attorney A. Thomas Waterfall says Torn will be able to post his bond and is expected to enter an alcohol treatment center in New York as early as Tuesday.

Artie on "The Larry Sanders Show" and Bob Diamond in "Defending Your Life" (although it was essentially the same character, not too dissimilar from his MIB character).
