Democrat or Republican?

Who says you can’t tell a (partisan) book by its cover. Two researchers from Tufts University
argue that Republicans and Democrats can be distinguished by certain facial characteristics. In one study, participants were able to accurately choose Democratic candidates for U.S. Senate from GOP candidates by only looking at their faces. In a second study, people were able to distinguish between Democrats and Republicans in college just by looking at their yearbook photos. And from a third study, researchers were able to pinpoint which qualities made someone look Democratic or Republican. Those who seemed “powerful” were identified as Republican, while subjects considered “warmer” turned out to be Democrats.

1. I wonder if "powerful" could translate to "authoritarian leaders"?

4. Republicans always look like they are trying to fit an external mold of how they SHOULD look
whether it's the businessman-or-preacher-turned-politician look, or whatever, they all look like they are trying to conform to that idealized image of what they SHOULD look like. Sadly for them, 99% of them end up looking like funeral directors.

Democrats seem more likely to me to just be who they are inside, and how they look reflects who they actually are internally, as well as their background, culture, life experience and beliefs, rather than simply trying to fit any prefabricated concepts or standards of how they should look externally.

5. Good observation. Dems seem to look more comfortable with themselves, too,
more relaxed.

9. "Powerful" is just their way of saying "pasty-faced and chinless"
Well, except for Boehner. He's pasty-orange.

10. I think I'm an exception to this rule
I've had many people tell me they were surprised to find out I wasn't conservative after talking to me. My theory is that my shyness makes me come across as very cold when really I'm just feeling nervous and uncomfortable.
