My prediction on the 2010 elections.
After November the right will be claiming a great victory.
And this is how I think they will do it.
With the aid of media, they will continue the Tea Party movement and even ratchet it up a notch, creating the impression that they were coming apart at the seams. Meanwhile they will attack the morale of democrats, again with the help of media, and we will see all kinds of "revelations" of corruption in government.
And many Democrats will just stay home out of disgust for what they see....but the tea baggers, and religious, and the republican regulars will be out in force and vote solid Republican....The right then can claim a majority and the media will convince us all that it is true...well most all.
That is their plan to win and I see nothing to stop them coming from our side.

1. Could be, but I suspect not - we're simply not that stupid
You can't keep doing nothing forever.

3. But it is so easy to distract with outrage.
And they have a virtual industry built around it and it reaches out everywhere.

11. I wish that were true but the populace is stupid
They sit in front of their TV day in and day out and are told what to think.

They are told what musical artist are the best by a talking head, they rush out to purchase all the artist CD's

They are told what movie is best and rush out to the theater and then gobble up the Blue Ray when it is released.

They are told what car is the best (acceleration and all) and they rush out and buy those cars.

They are told what product to buy in between being told what to think of Tiger Woods on the evening snews.

They were being told that Scott Brown is the greatest politician to walk this earth, even though he has not served on day in the Senate.

I don't feel good about what the American people are capable of after they have been brainwashed by the box in their living rooms.

14. TV has become our friend and companion
And a wonderful tool to turn us into consumers of all things.

4. Teabaggers will not necessarily "vote solid Republican"
There is a great deal of dissension among the ranks of teabaggers, dividing them roughly into two groups: those who align themselves with the Repubican party and those who remain independent. The latter are being pressured to join the former but most have resisted so far. Independents teabaggers are turned off by the greed and power tripping of the Republicans, and if this trend continues I don't think you can definitely count on their votes being cast for Republican candidates.

6. Then that is what we should exploit.
Because that is what they do...exploit our weaknesses and give us as much discouragement as possible.
They have a plan and the execute it....we do not and rely on our belief in truth to win.

15. Never say never, but..
imo it's unlikely we will win signficant numbers of teabaggers to our cause. The independents tend to be spittle-flying furious at all political parties, candidates and incumbents, and the leans-Republican teabaggers are deeply suspicious of commie pinko libruhl soshulist Democrats.

8. There are squabbles, to be sure
but anybody who went to some tea party gathering is not likely to vote for an incumbent, of either party. Since we're currently in the numerical majority, that means that it's not good for us.

12. you may be right.
Some of the tea baggers are anti incumbent. There fore no matter who is in office they are going to vote against them.

5. I am afraid all the post previous to ths one are missing the elephant in the room
That would be jobs and the economy. If good paying jobs are not seen as coming back in the next 7 months or so November will be a blood bath.

10. As a side point bearing some relation.
My Wife has had a bridge since before we were married (over 31 years). When she went to the dentist in November she was informed that the bridge was dangerous and she could swallow it and choke to death. The fix would be $3500. The appointment was made. I would prefer not to spend $3500 to ensure that our Dentist always has a late model car, but it's my Wife's decision obviously. After some thought she decided not to go ahead. After 32 years, it's a little late to panic. Our Dentist is very good and I would not accuse him of consciously trying to cook up unnecessary procedures.

This fear mongering has permeated American society at every level and is being practiced by too many people. Back it the cold war we worried about communists, but that was pretty much it. Now we are afraid of everything.

13. I could not agree more.
We hear a constant drown of fear from the TV and media all day long, and it is imposable not to be effected by it.

I grew up in the 50s and I know what you mean about not being afraid, except for the communist that is.
But the military industrial complex was young then and Communist were enough.

16. Things are really looking up for the democrats in 2010. Obama
has reasserted himself and all signs are that we will pick our super majority back up in the senate and gain 20 - 54 seats in the house. Tme MSM just won't report it. All you get are stories about the democrats running scared with many being fed up with the Obama administration....POPPYCOCK!
