boycot their other shows. The Superbowl will do well virtually no matter what. Their other shows, on the other hand, can be hurt by a boycot.

If you look at the table at the link and take out the Championship games, CBS had 10 of the top 18 shows. But the difference between the top ranked CBS show and the 20th ranked show was about 7 million viewers. Comparatively the Superbowl will have around 70 million or so viewers. It is way easier to get a boycot of 7 million people than 70 million. Just saying.

1. Does this only apply to "Neilson Families"?
Those mysterious people who are given Neilson Ratings Boxes. Do they still do TV Ratings like that? I never met a Neilson Family ever.

3. I think it is a combo of boxes and polls
but I am not sure.

7. We were a Neilson family once.
We got paperwork in the mail, like a journal or a diary, and we filled it out every day and then sent it back to them when the time period was up. What was funny is that we didn't ever watch anything but the educational shows--Wild Kingdom, History's Mysteries, etc. But yeah--it was just paperwork for us. No box.

2. Correct, and letters to them declaring a boycott of all programming hits harder...
...than a boycott of a single event.

4. considering I don't watch much TV
except for sports events like the Super Bowl, and news shows like Keith and Rachel.. this will be a very easy thing for me to boycott! I am not much of a fan of sitcoms, and especially not "reality" shows:puke: I do like shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy... but they are on Fox anyway...

5. How can I live without...
CSI, NCIS, The Late Show, The Late Late Show, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, NUMB3RS, 60 Minutes, Face the Nation, college basketball, and NFL coverage on CBS? And I can't forget the canceled CBS shows I watch, All in the Family and The King of Queens!

The real reason why we'd get mad at CBS is cuz there's no "counterweight" to Tebow's ad, which CBS doesn't think is an advocacy ad (even though it subliminally is).

6. It's a political ad pure and simple....
And it's okay to put those crappy Go Daddy shows on but not a Gay Web Match business...

8. Yes, the Tebow ad is political albeit in a subliminal, implicit way
...that's what I think based on what I've read so far on the news. Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

I plan on watching the Super Bowl socially after having spread the word about Tebow's ad with friends. I can't wait to see my emotional rush after seeing that ad. It would be #$%$king EPIC. Hell, if the networks can get away with showing erectile dysfunction medicine ads that discuss "erections lasting 4+ hours" then they sure as hell can get away with showing the gay dating ad.

Regarding All in the Family, I finished watching the first season of it last week. (Including the episode that was supposedly the first time a toilet flushed on TV.) Funny and groundbreaking show, but since it's a CBS production if you rent or buy the DVD you pay the censoring fools...that's why you can always use BitTorrent or YouTube for it as Super Bowl counterprogramming.
