Newburgh NY begs to host terror trial
Newburgh Mayor Nicky Valentine wants the 9-11-01 terror trial to be held in Newburgh NY. All that Newburgh is asking for is some help ensuring security.

We just redid our courthouse. Time to use it..

5. close
West Point is 16 miles away.

Benedict Arnold launched his conspiracy from Newburgh. Also, George Washington denied the crown here (this event is known as The Newburgh Conspiracy).
Washington's Headquarters (aka The Hasbrouck House) is located in Newburgh.

7. I think it's a GREAT idea. Newburgh needs the economic stimulus that a BIG,
LONG, DRAWN OUT high-profile trial like this would bring. Seriously.

I say go for it.

Disclaimer: I went to grade school 3 years at Gidney Ave School in Newburgh, and lived in New Windsor.

10. Probably not. We left NY in 1968 and I've never been back, lol.
Unless your name is Michele Reggero, Probably not.
