OK, so they're filibustering everything in attempts to shut down the Senate. Big deal. If they really want to shut down the Senate, here's some ideas: Cut their salary, take away their health insurance coverage, take away expensive perks like their private dining room and their private health club. You call that a filibuster? Actually have a "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington" filibuster on every single issue. All in or nothing.

Seriously, based on the amount of work they're getting done, we should start paying them what they're worth. Maybe we can revisit their compensation when they start working again.

3. I think the democrats are scared of the republicans
otherwise they would make them stand up day and night and all week and week ends and filibuster to their hearts content. And let C-Span play it day and night. Show the country what a bunch of a**holes the republicans really are. That all they are interested in is tying up the senate so the Democrats can't get any bills passed to help heal the economy. And that they are still doing their best to screw the country up. If they showed the filibusters non stop maybe the public would finally get the idea as to why the senate is stalled.

4. I remember when the Repugs shut down Congress ...
and ironically, it was Rush Limbaugh who gleefully declared that, while the (Repug-controlling all but the Pres) government was shut down, the economy was chugging along quite well.

And, now that the House and Senate are "controlled" by Dems (work with me on that one ... it's actually controlled by filibuster threats) and the government is being stalled, the economy is stagnating, at best ...

So, it seems to me that stopping the Republicans from running things makes the economy go well, stopping Democrats from running things is like hitting the brakes while trying to bicycle uphill ...
