Think about it.

It's agriculture. Farmers get subsidies for not planting crops. Why can't the government open up medicare for all, then pay the insurance industry subsidies to stay out of the healthcare business? Or why don't we help subsidize the insurance industry, in an effort to let them ply their practices in other countries?

I know it's nutty, but the bottom line to these people is money. Wouldn't it be easier for these assholes to just take the money and not have to deal with the complexities of a convoluted system?

It would not have to be in perpetuity. The govt. could set a timeline to wean them away from the subsidies, while the industry finds another way to fuck people over.

Just kidding.

Random thoughts...

2. But I'm guessing agriculture has some regulations, unlike those bottom feeders
who provide our 'health care'.

5. Walmart gift cards. Not providing service is big business now.
Those walmart gift cards lose 1 dollar per month until there is nothing left, if they are not used. There are lots and lots of these non-service scams going on in all kinds of industry now.
Services you pay for, but don't use. AAA towing and stuff like that.

10. It's one thing to hate insurance companies
And sometimes they refuse to pay out claims we think they should.

But they do sometimes pay out claims.

I had my car stolen and though I had to pay the deductible, the insurance company paid the rest, and it was a substantial amount that would have put me in serious debt without the insurance payment.

12. It's a racket
The protection industry has always been this way.

"You give us the money, see.
Or we'll bust up your store, see."

Can you be sure that they won't bust up the place even if you give them the money? Can you be sure your insurance will cover your medical expenses?

With health insurance we pay hoping we'll receive the best care when we get sick. We pay hoping we won't face bankruptcy one day due to medical bills.
Insurance is supposed to provide health care but in some instances it does not. (eg.pre-existing conditions, high deductibles and low maximums.) It's a real gamble, who is covered and who is not.

This is why we shouldn't let these operators be between us and our health care.
