Wilson Livingood

Wilson (Bill) Livingood, a thirty-one year veteran of the United States Secret Service, was elected Sergeant at Arms of the United States House of Representatives on January 4, 1995 for the 104th Congress, and subsequently re-elected through the current Congress. Wilson Livingood is the thirty-sixth person to hold this post since the House of Representatives first met in New York City in 1789. Livingood attended Michigan State University and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

4. I believe the SAA does what Congress tells him to do.

If Congress finds Rice in Contempt, they will issue an order for her arrest and she will be dragged into the House Floor to answer the charge.

If she wants to claim exec priv., then she needs to answer the subpeona and come to the House and say, "Exec. Priv."... Obviously, Congress doesn't care that she would try to do that, and I'm certain they hash out these types of conversations before resorting to these levels of orders.

A subpeona from Congress can not be ignored by anyone, even if the claim is exec. priv.

6. She cannot use "executive privilege" to defy a subpoena. She

can use it to not answer particular questions. If an oversight committee issues a subpoena, exec. priv. won't cover defying the writ. Now, the President can order her not to submit to the subpoena and then it is a crisis.

The congress has the right to subpoena any citizen of the country, period. This may turn out to be a nastier 20 months than even I thought...
