Prime Minister of Trinidad calls for investigation of pastor's daughter's sexy dance with musician
*The fallout continues from Akon’s simulated sex dance with a dance contestant who turned out to be the 14-year-old daughter of a pastor.

Patrick Manning, the Prime Minister of Trinidad, is demanding a formal investigation into the incident, which took place April 12th at Club Zen in Port of Spain. Also, Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds has expressed outrage over Akon’s conduct and is calling for the singer to be charged for “lewd dancing.”

In the midst of all this, the girl – Deena Alleyne – says the entire ordeal has soured her on hip hop and she will now dance strictly for the Lord.

"This whole hip hop thing is a guise and I don't want any part of it, I don't want to be any part of it," said Alleyne told the Trinidad Express. "Look at what I have to go through with one mistake that I made. My dad warned me every time and I didn't listen. I am sorry."

1. Hey, Trinidad must be in GREAT shape if the PM thinks this is their
biggest problem. Nice to see were not the only country led by dumbasses.

2. Trinidad and Tobago seems to be getting very puritanical
Pop singer Elton John should be banned from performing at a jazz festival in Tobago because his homosexuality could influence young people, some Christian leaders on the Caribbean island said Monday.

A group of Christian churches have failed to persuade the Tobago House of Assembly, which oversees the administration of the island, to join the call for a boycott of John's appearance at the Plymouth Jazz Festival in late April.

But they said they would pursue the campaign against John, who married his partner David Furnish in Britain in 2005.

"We feel it can have a negative social impact. There are some who may not be sure of their sexuality and one has to be careful about how this can create impressions on impressionable minds," pastor Terrance Baynes told Reuters Monday.

4. I found that Carribean people are generally very conservative and religous.
I dated a man from Grenada for a number of years. I was surprised at how religous and culturally conservative the people were as compared to the USA. There is a lot of homophobia, especially among black Carribean people.

My friend was not homophobic and, in fact, he worked with gays and lesbians to help fundraise for an Aids support group in my town. The group raises money for patients with Aids.
