We need MEDICARE FOR ALL and an END TO THE WARS to imporove economy . . .
Just to mention that I was at my local department store last night -- EMPTY!!

I think we had a great boost in optimism among the public when Obama was elected --

expectations rose during that time --

and hopes that the much needed health care reform would be passed -- saving citizens

and our government an immense amount of money -

Certainly we also expected the wars to begin to be eased back if not completelly ended.

The horrendous and outrageous bankrupting of our Treasury is one sure route to destroying

democracy.

I think we also expected to see the tax cuts for the rich rolled back -- sooner rather

than later --

The Credit card legislation moved forward -- sooner rather than later ---

The lack of these remedies has hurt our economy further --

We know that the rolling back of the New Deal restrictions/rules on Capitalism have

opened us up to "crony capitalism" and unfair practices that border on organized crime --!!

Where is re-regulation?

Where is the legislation to restore Glass-Steagall --

Are we just going to sit here and let more of these disasters build up until our

economy is completely and totally wrecked?

Anyone agree?

PS: Just to finish the story -- the salesclerk told me that the nearby malls are empty.

And that my local store, the sales people are "praying for customers" -- !!

Hope you are all finding something different where you live -- ???

And, meanwhile, my town itself is suffering a new loss of business and empty storefronts --

and this is a wealthy town!!

Worried about my kids -- how about you?

1. If only we could get Obama to hear you...
He's apparently only listening to the folks who have bought their way into the White House.

6. I think we're going to have to swap out a bunch of 'New' Democrats and get some old-school ones
back into power before we'll see that.

We'll have to change the Oval Office occupant for sure.

7. Border on organized crime? The rackets of organized crime, though vast,
pale in comparison in size and scope to the multiplicity of rackets being operated, all too much with the blessing of the Congress and the blind-eye of whatever administration is in power, by a gaggle of Wall-Street-type banksters and fraudsters. To add salt to the nation's wounds, their profits and ill-gotten gains are privatized and their massive losses are underwritten by the public (the unwitting taxpayer). :P

11. Pretty is as pretty does
We're all agreed that the President can give a fine speech. I want to see the follow through when all the speechifying is over.

Don't tell me. Show me.

Buildings are standing empty around here, too. Not just the small businesses, but big well-established businesses that have been here for 60 years, just closing their doors & sending everyone home. Being covered for health care through your job only works if there is a job.
