With O'Keefe arrest, Breitbart develops newfound appreciation for "facts"
January 27, 2010 11:23 am ET by Simon Maloy

Not a good day for Andrew Breitbart.

As his hand-groomed protégé, undercover ACORN video auteur James O'Keefe, sat in a Louisiana police station under arrest for attempting to tamper with a U.S. senator's telephone system, Breitbart's media empire went into lockdown, issuing only a terse statement denying any knowledge of O'Keefe's activities. This morning, however, Breitbart broke the silence, posting a missive to BigGovernment.com announcing that he, Andrew Breitbart, was going to "ait until the facts are in" before "jumping to conclusions" like Media Matters and everyone else in the media.

Imagine that -- Andrew Breitbart chastising the world for passing judgment before the facts are in.

Sort of like when Breitbart used O'Keefe's deceptively edited videos to issue broad condemnations of ACORN's willingness to aid in child prostitution, even though later investigations found that ACORN had done nothing to violate the law or eligibility for federal funding.

Or like when BigGovernment.com attacked the White House for playing host to ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis, only to find out later that it was a different Bertha Lewis.

1. I am so thankful for media matters....
Given the horrendous state of MSM, what would we do without it? David Brock, you redeemed yourself for your past RETHUG related activities, many many times over.

4. Yes, Breitbart has been whining like a baby
about the MSM and everyone 'jumping to conclusions' about his employee.

Wait until the facts are in.

Mainstream Media, ACORN, Media Matters (all the supposed defenders of due process and journalistic ethics) are jumping to conclusions over the arrest today of James O’Keefe, with the clear intention to smear and, if possible, convict O’Keefe and his alleged co-conspirators in the court of public opinion in order to taint the “jury of their peers.”

Yes, we are all jumping to conclusions. Breitbart and his rightwing gang of slanderers would never do that :eyes:

All those people are so powerful they were able to force O'Keefe and his gang of 'alleged wire-tappers' to go into a US Senator's office and mess with the phones.

Breitbart set the standard for 'journalism' when it comes to matters involving ACORN. 'There's no mention of wire-tapping' in the complaint he says, but the media is using that word and that's just wrong, according to Andrew.

Nor was he particularly concerned about 'facts' when he launched his diatribes about Ted Kennedy after the Senator's death. You would think he had been an eye-witness to the tragic events at Chapaquidick so certain was he of HIS set of facts.

Hypocrite is too good a word for these propagandists and distorters of truth.

ACORN was already vindicated before this but now, I certainly hope all those who jumped on the bandwagon of these morons and liars, will have the decency to make sure the public fully understands what they did to try to destroy that organization because of its support for the poor.

5. Well as Ronald Reagan said, "Facts are stupid things." At least, they make Republicans LOOK stupid.
