Hugh Hewitt interviews Breitbart on O'Keefe wiretap
ha! what a load.

I won't even post the link but its at Hugh Hewitt's site and linked on BB's. Hugh Hewitt is "interviewing" Andrew all the while giving him legal advice and helping Andrew distance himself from this O'Keefe business. Way to ask the tough questions Hugh.

The bitter irony: Breitbart's using the same defense that people tried to use to defend ACORN. Namely, that a few bad employees are making a whole organization look bad. O'Keefe is making Breitbart and his sites look complicit and foolish, just like the fired ACORN employees did to their organization. That O'Keefe wasn't in a Breitbart office is about the only thing missing.

HH: Is he…so he is an employee?

AB: I’m not sure that’s technically the thing, but yes, he’s paid for his life rights. And he’s, you know, he’s still…we reserve the right to say yes or no to any of the stories that he puts up on our site as we do to any other contributor who comes to the site.

HH: Will it be a mischaracterization to say he was working for you when he went about this?

AB: Well, I mean, no. He was not involved in anything that was related to Big Government, or Breitbart.com.

HH: And I think that’s the key thing. Lots of people work for lots of corporations, and do dumb and sometimes illegal things that are not within the scope of their employment. And this was not within the scope of his employment.

AB: Yes, absolutely. That is absolutely the case.

HH: Andrew Breitbart, thanks for checking in with us. I appreciate that.

1. I've never heard of "life rights" before this. Is this somehow saying that
breitbart only takes the credit when nobody goes to jail?

3. I think in this context
it means that O'Keefe's video exploits would be shown to Breitbart first and he can choose to post them or pass on them at his discretion. I assume he was paying a premium for this "privilege" as well.

5. Bingo...
This was a quick response attempt at spin and damage control. Problem was the two didn't quite get on the same page. Breibart knows he's gonna be under scrutiny here on several fronts. Besides his employing of O'Keefe, there's his connections to the Pelican Institute which leads to Flannigan and put his slimy grubbies right in the middle of a possible conspiracy. But it's a delight to know this oxygen thief is squirming.

Of course the hate radio crowd will deny, down play and attempt to laugh this off...it's their only defense in the immediate aftermath. There's still an arraignment hearing to come and more revelations to follow. I suspect a grand jury will be called and they'll have a subpoena with Mr. Breibart's name on it.

Ah, this will be a something fun to watch for once...

Cheers...
