While most of America was watching American Idol, they missed...
While most of America was watching American Idol, they missed the most important report to air on TV since 9/11. That Bill Moyers report was amazing. If you missed it, kick yourself. If you caught it and maybe taped it pass it on to a friend, this is a must see.

1. Absolutely.
IMO, this program should be required viewing for every registered American voter before November, 2008.

2. I managed both
And American Idol was exceptional tonight as well - in fact in terms of actually changing the planet, Idol was probably the more important of the two.

You really can care about the war lies and watch America Idol at the same time.

they did good things for the world on there, tonight. Although, can we trust Fox with the money?

I saw parts of the Moyers show... excellent!

8. nobody
Was all about doing good tonight, wouldn't be right to make somebody sad, bla bla bla.

Was a good program, I hope they raised a lot of money and more importantly, awareness.

10. It is absolutely worth buying
Very good program - although there were Democrats who were much more pro-war than Hillary, and especially Kerry, were. That was a cheap shot. Lieberman, Breaux, the Nelsons, those are the Dems who were really on board.

(Talking Points Memo in point of fact.) What is this particular Moyers report about? I heard the cons were really upset about it, in passing, but didn't get what it was actually about?

12. If you missed American Idol, you missed a very eye opening report on child poverty
The program was quite good at pointing out some of the galling problems facing kids both in the US and in Africa. Refugees of Katrina still living in violent, drug-infested "temporary" mass trailer parks, kids whose parents work three jobs a day in struggling after school programs, AIDS orphans in Africa, and kids dying of the entirely preventable disease of malaria. Believe me, tonight's American Idol will hopefully shake the consciences of millions of people and reintroduce the topic of poverty into the American political discourse.

14. I was stunned the other night when
Simon was in the Second Harvest warehouse, or maybe a community pantry, said something like "I didn't know there were places like this in America." I couldn't believe it, but some people really don't know that people are starving right here in the land o' milk and honey.

20. And how much did Simon give out of all the money he makes?
He didn't know there were places like this in America... what a shocker. He just did an interview with Anderson Cooper not too long ago and sure didn't come across as though he even had a conscience and was proud of it. So let's see how long his social awareness is sustained now that he knows, or if this was only a one time thing to use suffering to get ratings.

1 (800) 336-1917. If not, try the PBS website.
