1. Using the nuclear option for this shitty bill is a waste of a trump card
We should save it for something good, like the EFCA.

4. I think the filibuster is un-democratic.
I'm not referring to any particular bill.

2. and what happens, my friend ....
.... when the opposition party gets a majority and rams legislation down Dems' throats? Then you'll be screaming about the unfairness of it all.

7. Let's play it out.

If the rethugs get the majority in a filibuster-less Senate, it can go one of two ways.

One, the Rethugs go nuts, jam shit through with 51 votes (which they did anyways during the Bush years, thanks to the DINOs breaking our filibusters), overreach, get thrown out by the voters, then once we're back in power, it's easier for us to undo their damage with simple majority votes.

The other scenario is that the Republicans play out the first scenario in their heads, but realize that they can't prevent us from undoing their damage by filibustering us when we're back in power, so they rethink things, maybe what they implement isn't quite so psycho.

Compare to today, where when the Rethugs get power, they go nuts, get the DINOs to break our filibusters, but when we get power and try to undo their damage, we get filibustered.

I'd say killing the filibuster is a net win for us, even when the Rethugs get power for a few years.
