Announcing my run for PRESIDENT!!
Edited on Thu Jan-21-10 04:25 PM by Stryguy
While almost every news network is more concerned about how the Democrats have lost 1 seat out of their 60 seat majority here's the real news, the Supreme Court's ruling on campaign finance. This ruling allows companies to spend UNLIMITED funds on a single candidate.

So I Herby announce my candidacy for President. I fully intend to "badge" or "sticker" myself with any companies that fund my campaign just like a NASCAR vehicle. The more companies that fund me the more stickers I'll have on my body. I'll use my right to free speech to give "press conferences" at state capitols and I'll have someone announce me as, "The moment we've all been waiting for.. Brought to you by xyz corporation!!! John DOE, the next President of the United States!!" During any speeches I'll thank corporations that donated and even do some product placement if at all possible. Like.. "WOW It's hot out here today, Thankfully I have this PEPSI!!" and hold it up for the crowd to see.

I see so many possibilities for great publicity for your company, and obviously I'll spout whatever reform ideas or outrageous changes in federal law you might want and blame the current administration for why they aren't currently to your liking.

Now, lets get the bidding, err, I mean my candidacy started!!

4. I'll even offer to rename Federal Buildings
I like your thinking. I'll even offer to rename Federal Buildings.

The Lucas Oil Monument has a better ring to it than the Washington Monument anyway.

7. So do enlighten us how they donate
I'd love to hear how their money won't get into the campaign coffers.

11. Easy
They independently run advertisements supporting or opposing someone. This decision expanded their ability to do that but did not remove the restriction on direct contributions to the candidate.

12. I'll follow that paper trail
But too bad, your average American won't.

And there was no help for the little guy once more. The corporate whores will continue to direct their employees to make contributions to the pukes and turn in the expense on their expense reports.

And the IRS is understaffed by the pukes' TAX-SAVING measures so it doesn't get caught a lot of the time. Or the company has a shell company for the reports to be paid from.

Again, the Republican fucks have screwed middle America.
