We here in Maryland know exactly what the people of Massachusetts are doing. They're just reminding themselves why they've voted Democrat for decades. We did it too not that long ago. Here in Maryland we elected Bob Ehrlich as Governor. He was our first republican Governor elected in 30 years. Spiro T Agnew being the last. Unlike Brown, Bob Ehrlich actually defeated a Kennedy. RFK's daughter Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. Did that spell gloom, doom and destruction for the democrats? Like the Republicans were saying. Hell No! Did Bob Ehrlich even get a second term? Hell No! That gargantuan monumental precedent setting democrat crushing and grinding to dust victory was followed by the national democrats gaining the largest majority in 30 years. Now if Ehrlich's election is any indication of how this Brown thing is going to go. When Brown runs for his second term. The Democrats should have about 80-90 Senate seats and 9/10 of the House seats at the end of that election cycle. I think the Brown win is very good news for the democrats.

2. The only thing wrong with her was she was a WOMAN
my brother who have never voted for a republican in his life voted for Ehrlich because he said a woman had no business running the state. And as reprehensible as it seems a survey said the same thing. I didn't know that Maryland was so out and out sexist. After all Barbara has been the senator for a long long time.

3. Maryland is probably less 'sexist' than most, imo.
(I live there/here now.)

Kathleen Kennedy Townsend ran a very weak campaign, as I recall; surprised many in doing so.

5. Truthfully I think she took a dive. She is actually a very intelligent articulate well spoken person
But during the elections. The second they put a camera on her. She couldn't put two words together to save her life. I Volunteer for Charities that she's came to as Lt. Governor to talk to us about get public funds. The KKT I saw on Camera was not the same KKT I saw in private meetings. But now she's helping teachers teach students and she's on the board of ACORN. So I think now she's doing with her life what SHE wants to do with her life and that's help as many people as humanly possible. You can't always do that from the Governors Mansion. You should be able to. But you realistically can't.

4. No it wasn't Ehrlich/Steele spent a lot of time and money painting KKT as the Carpetbagger from Mass
Just like the GOP under Steele is trying to paint Obama as the carpetbagger from Kenya.

7. Yup. I watched it locally as well. Awful.
Not as bad as Coakley's. But she gave people no reason to vote for her.

Her campaign seemed to consist of "Vote for me, I'm a Kennedy."
