If we are going to have Commissions on "Entitlements" I DEMAND a Commission on Miltary Spending
I am apalled and resentful at the effort to blame government deficits at the door of our social saftey net and the few government systems that exist solely for the welfare and health of American citizens. A Commission on Entitlements should exist for the purpose of expanding and protecting them and making them better and more inclusive, if anything. I cynically believe this Commission will exist for the opposite purpose - to whittle, dismantle and privatize.

I absolutley demand that our government address the REAL reason we have such a huge deficit - the out of control costs of empire building and police actions taken on behalf of private entities, disguised behind the cloak of a War on Terror. I want a Commission on Miltary Spending.

2. But that would take profits from the government's corporate masters,
And we certainly can't have that.

The raid and ruination of the middle and working class is a bipartisan effort, and it continues apace. The only question now is are we the people going to sit still for it, or will we fight back?

15. Not the same thing. That just moved the money more directly into the masters' pockets

Closing bases did not cut spending. It was just a shell game.

21. infuriating when you consider how much money we've put into our "entitlement" programs
and how much they are coveted by thieves, smacking their lips.
