Droning on about how CHILDREN with preexisting will be covered....(not everyone, just children)

On & on about how the insurance companies don't like this bill. On & on & on....

The health insurance companies don't like it.

He sounds like a idiot.

1. The Soviets once said that America would sell it the rope with which it
would hang itself. I think the same applies to today's democrats.

3. It is just so insulting. How stupid do they think we are?

The health insurance stands to gain 40 million customers, many subsidized by the government, and a mandate where people will be forced to buy their shitty product, and they have the balls to try and sell this as somehow anti-insurance.

They are running ads against it!

They are just going to piss people off more.

2. What a rip
Most young children are too young to have pre-existing conditions.....

4. Exactly. And, the fact that they are reduced to selling legislation

that ONLY prohibits denial for kids, it really shows how far off the rails this 'reform has gone.

No denial for anyone with preexisting conditions was recently one of the MAIN selling points. It was painful to watch.

5. I can think of several ....
Type 1 Diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis, Tay Sachs Disease (sp), congenital malformations at birth, hemophilia and other inherited diseases. There are also many forms of Leukemia that children are afflicted with more often than adults. And many, many more. Pre-existing condition clauses are of concern to people of all ages and should be abolished. It is not like you ask for them or go looking for them. People get sick through no fault of their own, but they are treated like they somehow brought the illness on themselves.

6. Thanks. I was diagnosed with insulin dependent diabetes at age 7.
There was plenty of company in my children's ward, too.

18. Thanks ...
My neighbor has type 1 Diabetes and I have type 2 which didn't hit until 1993. My neighbor is not doing so well right about now, and we watch out for each other so I guess I am hyper aware of that one.

I hope your Diabetes is under good control and that you are doing well. It is a major illness for both children and adults, but I think it has to be harder to deal with when you're a kid. Kids don't really have a sense of what mortality is, and there are so many things they have to limit to maintain their Diabetes. Good luck to you and take care.

11. No one is saying that it isn't a good provision...

It is just pathetic that they are not applying it to everyone.

20. I'm not saying there aren't any pre existing conditions and hopelully they'll be covered....
But when you go from single payer, to public option to mandated insurance with pre existing conditions removed to pre-existing conditions removed for children.........where is this bill going?

8. Just another "generous" gift by Obama ...
to his Republican colleagues. Just what we needed. Another conservative extended a presidential invitation to screw us over even more. Joy.

Welcome to DU. ;)

12. Gibbs -

Talking over Ed. Refusing to answer any of his points. Refusing to admit that this bill is a sellout to the insurance companies in any way. It was downright insulting.

Supporting children benefits the entire society...not just the parents.
