New Dem Talking Point: We can't pass anything without Republican help

Dem Talking Points: We're Screwed!

New Senate Democratic talking points, distributed in response to last night's special election in Massachusetts show the party pre-emptively placing the blame for a lackluster agenda moving forward on Republicans, who Dems say they now need to pass legislation.

"Republicans have an obligation to the American people to join us in governing our nation through these difficult times and to help clean up the mess they left behind," reads the memo obtained by TPMDC. "It is mathematically impossible for Democrats to pass legislation on our own. Senate Republicans to come to the table (sic) with ideas for improving our nation and not obstructionist tactics."

1. Finally, Dems have the game exactly where they want it. Now they HAVE to be corporate!
"Oh, well", says the DLC.

10. There's a whole lot they can do without the Republicans that would help average Americans
This is just more 'bipartisan' excuse making. Change the damned tax structure, create jobs programs, some measures on health care can be done...if they don't do these things it's more of the same and blaming someone else.

12. Oh FFS this is ridiculous - enough with this Marquis de Queensbury bullshit...
Dems wanna move some numbers - ? - then they cannot be seen just standing there news cycle after news cycle month after month while republicans run their racist, shit talking mouths *and* every other game in town & country. Dem leadership has to bell that fucking cat - and rolling over & playing dead will not make that happen

15. Is there ANYONE defending this bullshit on here?
I mean I know all the hankie dabbing apologists on here for the cowardice and weakness shown by pretty much every dem in any position of authority over the past year have been puffing their chests out for a while now saying that the rest of us "just didn't understand politics or how government worked", but I haven't seen many of them today. Where are they now defending this new bullshit tactic.

If this is how the elected dems are reacting to this I honestly am done with this party after 20 plus years. Shit, I'd even be o.k. if they were coming out saying "Now we have to be MORE conservative!!!" That would be idiotic as well but at least it would be a tangible approach to how they were going to do things rather than "OH NOES!!! NOW WE CAN"T GET ANYTHING DONE!!!!" as if they were just burning down the highway of accomplishment full speed ahead over the past year. We lost this seat because of their dithering and now they're planning on doing the one thing they could do that would make it all worse.
