That is, unless you want to count Lieberman -- which I don't.

Just sayin'

3. it's just a cop-out, the reason they'll give for not getting ANYTHING done
well, we didnt have a big enough majority, so let the banksters, ceos, and health insurance giants walk all over you.

It's your fault we are letting this happen to you.

-blame the victims, who in this case are the progressive American people

4. We did for some issues
The Health Care Reform bill is one example. We had exactly 60 votes for that.

5. This loss of a supposed 60 vote majority will just be used by the Dems as an excuse
to not do any of the heavy lifting.

6. Bingo.
And if you tell the truth about Nelson, Landrieu, Baucus, Bayh, Lincoln, McCaskill, Reid, Specter, Tester and Webb, you really only have 49 nominally progressive senators, if that.

7. We could have.
That little shitstain was petrified at the prospect of losing his committee chair. If Reid had brought the hammer down on him and told him he'd better break his back towing the party line, he would have become the über-Democrat. But the precedent got set very early: have power, will not use it. Walk softly and forget you have a big stick.
