I hear that you can get enough money to buy drugs and booze, not cheap shit either. You get H and coke, meth... you name it! And check it out! You get to eat steak and drive around in SUV's and watch tee vee on a huge flat-screen in high-def. Then you get to fuck off all day, get loaded and not look for a job - after all that's why you're in the state that you're in - right? Come now, who doesn't know that?

With this slow economy sounds like more would jump all over an opportunity like that - so why aren't they? I mean, really? They don't know what they're missing!

5. Do you mean
Like the bank excs who did such a "great" job of taking this country to the edge of a disaster, and who are getting billions in bailouts, corporate welfare, and are also giving out "millions" to the same people who caused the mess in bonus's? I think the "WE" group needs to realize their "WELFARE" checks were a hell of a lot bigger than those checks to the regular person on welfare!

Over the years I have listened to farmers in my area complain about those who get "welfare" and how those kind of giveaway programs are terrible, and should not be done. Those same farmers who drive $40,000.00 SUV's and pickups, who go south for the winter in their $100,000.00 motor homes, are all getting "subsidies" from the government every year, and some no longer even have to farm their fields because they get paid more than if they were farming! My brother in laws, both of them, are in that group. They don't make enough to retire on like some of the big wheat farmers around here, but they make enough to buy a new car when they need it, with cash, and go on trips to Hawaii every couple of years, yet they still complain about the guy who drives a 20 year old car, can't find work, and has a family to support, and gets a few hundred dollars in food stamps and free health care for their kids, and has never left the area since they were born because they can't afford a vacation!

3. I think to afford that you need to supplement your income through criminal acts
Stealing, Dealing Drugs, Prostitution....

That is where the real money is when you are on welfare

4. You need to do a follow-up thread to this:
"If being homeless is SO damn easy and fun, why don't we all do it?".

Many right-wing pieces of shit in my area seem to think homeless people are largely homeless because they LIKE it. It is such an EASY life.

12. My rich, conservative boss said that...

...recently, trying to get a rise out of us office drones.
I looked at him and said "You have no fucking idea what you are talking about!"
He walked out of the room somewhat dejected, he thought it was gonna be fun.

6. Yup! Welfare is the way to go.
I'm a "welfare" worker and I can tell you. EVERYONE aspires to live on the $300 or $400 per month that welfare provides. Yup! I think I'll quit my job so I can move to the other side of the desk. :eyes:

7. I hear the same bullshit regarding unemployment...
"People are on it because they are lazy don't want to work, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah..." Sure. They lose their jobs through no fault of their own, often having been at it for decades, yet "they don't want to work." Yeah, people WANT to take a massive pay cut so they can sit home all day and watch TV and eat bon bons. It shouldn't surprise me that the assholes making such accusations are too stupid to recognize that welfare and unemployment are two different beasts.

8. You know, when I was forced to live on welfare...
it was the highlight of my life. Nothing like never being able to buy your children clothes or shoes and relying on other people to provide everything for you. Of course, that always meant that they got the right to judge my "worthiness", but that was OK. Being on welfare was such a fun time that I GLADLY accepted all the criticism of my life and having everyone judge me for things that others who were not on welfare could do with impunity.

It's amazing how far you can stretch $376 a month plus $405 in food stamps. I mean, if you just don't feed your kids or buy them anything, you can take all that money and spend it on yourself. I loved how many Bon Bons I was able to buy with my food stamps.

And taking that HUGE amount of money and just not paying the bills or the rent allowed me to buy a Cadillac and drive around like a Queen.

It was so much fun that I cried for weeks when I finished school and got a job that allowed me to feed my children and buy them clothes. I mean... once I got a job, I couldn't just lay around having other people buy my Bon Bons and, since it was MY money then, I had to feed my kids and buy them stuff. I don't think they suffered too much. It's amazing how much confidence is built when a child is forced to wear out of date clothes and too small shoes to school. Just because the other kids teased them unmercifully doesn't mean that they SUFFERED.

For those who need it: :sarcasm:

13. I would have LOVED to submit to a urine test
I mean, I didn't have anything else to do all day, any way? Just because I had 3 little girls to take care of (ages 1, 3 and 5) doesn't mean that I DID anything all day. I never cleaned the house or made them food, so all there was to do was sit around all day and do drugs. It was so awesome that all those "concerned" people who came to my house for Section 8 inspections and "Protective Services" calls didn't realize just how little I did! WHEW!

I had heroin in my Bon Bons... that's for sure. I was so happy for that money that allowed me to sit around, watching soap operas and eating heroin laced Bon Bons. It sucked when I went to work and I would go right back on welfare in a heart beat, since it was such a blast! In fact, I don't know why the hell I didn't think of it before!!

14. invasion of the piss testers

If I had to piss in a cup to get SSI
Nevermind the meds I take giving positives and having to haul a bunch of bottles or doctors notes around..

Ya know what I get freaked enough pissing in a cup in private for my endrocrinologist's tests. To have to pee in the female way IN FRONT of a stranger that just might trigger me enough to lose it.
And that is a scenario I want to avoid.

I see the signs in the lab bathrooms.Employee Urine Test patients,if you turn on the faucet during your test at any time your test is NULL and VOID.Wait for a supervisor etc. It makes me shudder.

Transgender and trauma issues aside,
What if you get pee on your hand? You supposed to leave it there? There are no paper towels or wipes in there. Do you hand the lab person a cup coated in pee, well, that's nice and humiliating.

I wonder HOW employers got away with manditory piss testing employees. That is such an invasive thing, and now employers can do the psychological tests on you too.Do people realize how much corporations have invaded thier lives, bodies and minds?
It's horrifying to me.

I know I am not the only one that sees the wrongness of this.
