Poll question: It'll be the Progressives' Fault Tuesday Because...
Win or lose, the MA special election will be the fault of progressives at DU because when we're not totally irrelevant, we're a super-powerful coalition able to derail any election with the power of our dirty hippie patchouli powers. So in the spirit of this amazing DU mythology, I present the "It'll be the Progressives' Fault because..." poll!

The average Democrat voting in the MA. election doesn't know DU exists.

Believe it or not, so-called "progressives" have been promoting said tactic here at DU and on other "progressive" sites.

Because there is no process.

16. is amazing how many "ignored"s posted in this thread
LOL!

I'm sure they're saying something pseudo-witty about how everything IS the progressive's fault, or that we aren't progressives, or we're purists or whatever the most recent "centrist" talking point is.

but looking beyond that, I want to say that the OP makes an excellent point: You can't have it both ways, you can't label the "lunatic left" as irrelevant and then blame us for being powerful enough to do real damage.

bravo for pointing out that conundrum.

21. to be fair, there's enough disdain on both sides, but I find it more egregious
when the "centrist" crowd puts out its ridiculous nonlogic about the left. At least the left is actually complaining about real positions of the centrists, whereas the centrists just complain that the left exists at all.

25. If they try this, this will show the Dems and the WH as totally out
of touch and the American people will lose further respect
for them.

Dissing Progressives and Liberals, Labor Unions and the
American People have put them on the hot seat already.

They will affirm the image they have become the protectors
of Big Business and Wall Street. This is an image they
need to shed quickly. Just talking tough does not count.
Looks hypocritical. ACTIONS speak louder than words.

Progressives are the red-headed stepchild of the Democratic party nowadays. We're here to be whipped anytime something bad happens so that the centrists don't have to take the blame for themselves.

against her in the primary. Or she could become more like Gillibrand and turn more to the left. Of course, she could become like Lieberman and become a Rethug but I doubt it. I would take Coakley in a heartbeat over my lovely Senator Joe "traitor" Lieberman.
