Supreme Court Blocks Gay Marriage Trial Broadcast
Gay Couples' Battle To Overturn Proposition 8 Will Likely Lead To 1st Supreme Court Case On Gay Marriage In 38 Years

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS News) ― The U.S. Supreme Court has blocked the broadcast of the trial of California's ban of gay marriage. The first federal trial to determine if the U.S. Constitution prohibits states from outlawing same-sex marriage gets under way later this morning and was going to be broadcast on YouTube.

The high court on Monday said it will not allow video of the trial to be posted on YouTube.com, even with a delay, until the justices have more time to consider the issue. It said that Monday's order will be in place at least until Wednesday. Opponents of the broadcast say they fear witness testimony might be affected if cameras are present. Justice Stephen Breyer said he would have allowed cameras while the court considers the matter.

The proceedings, which are expected to last two to three weeks, involve a challenge to Proposition 8, the gay marriage ban approved by California voters in November 2008.

1. Those now in american political offices obviously need to be reminded that the Government is For the
People, By the People...

We need to rise up and take back our place at the table or we will continue to be the ones getting nothing more than left overs...

so we can hit those sobs in the wallet, wtf should I do business and give $ with idiots who think they are better than I am? Why should my rights as a citizen and tax payer be up for a vote, wtf should my taxes go to edumacate their little bastards in abstinence sex ed(which is no education at all IMO).

It really peeves me whn I hear that the civil rights fight of the Af Americans does not even begin to equate with the struggles of gay americans.
I have had a life time of being bullied, fired, arrested, harassed, assaulted physically and verbally. How is it different that I have lost all of my friends from AIDs when runnyraygun could not even say it? My community has lost an entire generation. I have been poz for almost 30 years, you know how many of my contemporaries are left that are alive to talk to? Out of hundreds of friends and acquaintances I only have one surviving friend from the early 80s, the rest are dead.
