RNC Chairman Steele says God wanted him as head of Republican Party
RNC Chairman Steele mirrors Bachmann: God chose me
http://minnesotaindependent.com/53394/rnc-steele-bachmann-god

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele says he has the job he does because “placed” him there. His statement mirrors those of fellow Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann, who has asserted several times that she went into politics because God asked her to.

On Pat Robertson’s CBN news, Steele said: "A lot of people think that this is about me. It is not about me. I’m not defined by this job. When this job is over I will go back to doing something else but God, I really believe has placed me here for a reason because who else and why else would you do this unless there’s something inside of you that says right now you need to be here to do this(isn't that what serial killers say, just sayin', lol) and there’s going to be a lot of ugly that comes after you but if you stay true and you stay faithful to what brought you into this party and why you believe so much that what this administration is doing is wrong for America then I’m good. You can say whatever you want about me. You can write whatever you want about me. I sleep very well at night Washington. I really do because I know who has my back: the people of America and that is what we fight for everyday."

Steele’s comments are reminiscent of statement made by Rep. Michele Bachmann. Last year, she told WorldNutDaily that she would run for president if God told her to:

“If I felt that’s what the Lord was calling me to do, I would do it,” she answered. “When I have sensed that the Lord is calling me to do something, I’ve said yes to it. But I will not seek a higher office if God is not calling me to do it. That’s really my standard.

“If I am called to serve in that realm I would serve,” she concluded, “but if I am not called, I wouldn’t do it.”

Oh, the Lord is calling you two alright... You just don't listen. He says to check into a mental institution for monitoring.

1. Hell, when I apply for a job, I have to submit a coverletter, CV, references, & supporting materials
...and they all have to be in by the closing date. Then I wait for an interview...and wait...and wait...

How do I get one of these "God wanted me to have this job"-type jobs?

3. Fuck they're such assholes.
This is the arrogance we're up against. If God created the entire enormous universe, what makes you think that he gives two shits about this particular country on this relatively tiny planet? What makes YOU so damn special to cause him or her to directly influence it?

They disobeyed, and he's punishing them with you.

7. If Steele is right, maybe god is a Democrat...
Maybe the lord has called on him to bring about the destruction of the repuke party through incompetence and idiocy, or perhaps it's just his job to keep the repukes from getting anywhere while get our own ship straightened out (the progressive vs. DLC issues).

not using the brains she gave them. And BTW, Michel Steele has her number blocked, so that's not really
God he's talking to.

26. If God had placed him in the position then why was he elected by the delegates?
Edited on Sat Jan-09-10 03:20 PM by LiberalFighter
Or why did it take 6 series of ballots before he won?

At the least shouldn't his election had been a slam dunk if God was on his side?

And it took 6 ballots even though the alternative had even more serious problems.
