Pass the podium-disinfectant, please.
Maybe it's just me, but in a part of the country that led the nation in foreclosures and suffered the closure of a bank that took down many businesses and family farms, I'm thinking that there's probably someone better suited to speak at any gathering. I'd be willing to bet that the attendees are not members of the Democratic party:

"A health bill will probably be passed by Congress by February and when that does the Obama Administration and Congress will turn to financial issues, deficit reduction and a climate change measure which will probably not go anywhere. And towards the end of the first half of the year the federal government may address immigration, said John Savercool, senior lobbyist and managing director of UBS Americas Inc., which includes that company's investment bank, wealth management and global asset management. He addressed an invited crowd of about 40 people during a Greeley Country Club luncheon Thursday.

Savercool, who has worked on Capitol Hill for 23 years, began his career with Rep. Mike Oxley, R-Ohio then spent 17 years with Phil Gramm, R-Texas, first in the House then when Gramm was elected to the Senate. He joined UBS in 2003 after working for the American Insurance Association from 1999-2003."
