Bush: "Last November, the American people said they were frustrated...I listened"

Bush: Americans didn't vote for 'failure'

President Bush, promising once again to veto any war-spending bill that contains a timeline for withdrawal of troops from Iraq, somberly awaits a veto-showdown with the Democratic-controlled Congress.

“They chose to make a political statement,’’ Bush said today of the war-spending bill that the House and Senate are preparing to pass this week. “That’s their right, but it is wrong for our troops, and it is wrong for our country.’’

With a presidential helicopter, Marine One, posed behind him on the South Lawn of the White House, Bush delivered parting remarks on his way to New York City for a tour of a charter school and Republican National Committee fundraising dinner at a private home this evening.

“Last November, the American people said they were frustrated and wanted a change in our policy in Iraq… I listened,’’ Bush said, pointing to an increased deployment of forces that he announced in January and which is still amassing in Iraq. “The American people did not vote for failure, and that is precisely what the Democratic leadership’s bill would be.’’

Edited on Tue Apr-24-07 10:48 AM by truedelphi
Shouldn't they be out on the steps of the Capital demanding that the American people flood the White House with calls saying that the troops must not be made hostages.

12. Bush may as well stick his fingers in his ears..
and scream "I'm listening" over and over at the top of his lungs.

No, the American people did not vote for failure, they voted to get us out of the disastrous failure that we are already firmly entrenched in.

He DOESN'T GET IT!!! He WILL NEVER GET IT!!!

He stands up there trying to pretend that he is working for the greater good and rising above petty politics. Apparently he is the only one in the world who doesn't see this as completely ludicrous.

WTF is it going to take to get this moron out of there!!!

:banghead:
