K&R if you want Ed Schultz to go for it!
I believe he should, and that it's now or never.

It would be a win/win scenario for him and us.

He's a true liberal, if he gets the job, then will have a strong liberal voice in the Senate.

If he does not, he will have put his message out and will carry on on MSNBC.

I personally believe he can do it, because he is popular in this part of the country and he would shred any opponent to bits in a debate.

7. I think he would have more influence as a Senator.
IMO, 90% of the people who watch MSNBC, let alone the Ed Show, are liberals anyway.

5. Actually we need all the liberal talk hosts that we can get.
Much of the problems we are having come from the enormous amount of rw talk radio out there.

No, he reaches far more people where he is.
One of the few Dems who has been willing to call the President to task for abandoning working class people. In the Senate he'll just get beat on by Rahm to support the RW agenda of the administration and shut up like all our other progressive senators.

10. I've not heard anyone explain how he would win...
He's popular with progressives nationally, and he has roots in ND, but ND isn't a progressive state. It's not Minnesota, and Fargo isn't Minneapolis.

The 2008 Presidential vote in ND went to McCain by 8 points. While neither Dorgan or Kent Conrad aren't RW Republicans, neither are they Al Franken liberals.

Scroll to Derby #6.

There are some folks who don't like conservative sourcing, so I'll leave it to them to find any flaws in this rendition of what Schultz said.

His remarks are within a larger thread about the viability of Schultz as a candidate. IMO, this is the kind of thing a GOP candidate will take and run with, and it may make a difference in a thinly-populated state which is not particularly liberal.

Keep in mind that hunting/outdoors shows, which have been on T.V. for about 50 years, have had sports celebrity guests who hunt. Keep in mind also that the RKBA is a constitutional right which cannot be banned or curtailed because someone is all steamed up about "thugs" in the locker room (I believe there was already a ban on this practice). BTW, all of the sports celebrity hunters were pretty white. Does Schultz want to extend the ban to them as well?
