John McCain on The Daily Show Tomorrow: The Audience Groaned!
They used to love the guy, but when he said that, the entire audience groaned. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

3. All Jon said was that tomorrow he would be on, and the audience groaned in the background

10. That's interesting. Hope they groan when he comes on
Then maybe the country will see the temper that so many in Arizona have witnessed.

2. Saw that! That was honesty.
Jon looked a little surprised, but had no time left in the show to comment or quip.

15. What did Jon expect?
insane mccain goes to the Market Place in Baghdad and declares it "safe" after walking around with soldiers and tanks and the next day all these Iraqis from the Market Place get killed.

mccain should be too embarrASSed to show his face in public but these pod people have no shame.

5. I heard it too. An appropriate reaction to an obsolete politician.

13. Doubtful. McCain will not be pressed by Stewart, and will attempt ...
... to come across as the nice guy. I'm sure that the Daily Show audience, like that of Real Time/Maher, is instructed not to boo or heckle the guests, and Stewart has been a McCain apologist and boot-licker for ages (thus McCain's ready access to the TDS guest slot) -- so Stewart won't press McCain on what can only be described as either delusional or deceitful comments in recent weeks.

12. Stewart kisses John McCave's arse far too frequently and passionately.
Edited on Mon Apr-23-07 10:47 PM by krkaufman
Stewart needs to open his eyes and get over his delusions of McCain. He's still under the media-generated misperception of McCain as the maverick politician.

p.s. People need to email Daily Show/Stewart to ask them/him to stop providing the platform for these Right Wing lunatics to spew their bile and spout their misinformation. As many have pointed out, these people who's predictions have been demonstrably wrong from day one need to be held to account -- and should not continue to be given the credibility implied by such a national platform.

16. Hmmm... May have been as long ago as July 2006.
Edited on Tue Apr-24-07 09:47 AM by krkaufman
I would have sworn it was more recent. See Daily Show episode list on TV.com

p.s. (on edit): see this.
Jon Stewart; Apr.5,2006: People who watch this show know, we love John McCain. He's one of our most frequent guests, one of our favorite figures in Washington, and I'm gonna tell you why: campaign finance, environmental law, budgetary overspending, Abu Ghraib scandal — issue after issue, Arizona's senior Senator has staked out his position, even at the expense of alienating conservatives. He's a maverick!

It would seem that Stewart hadn't actually taken a close look at McCain outside of his 2000 campaign run, since McCain had pretty much been a pandering yes-man for Bush, since.

p.p.s. Note that the above website only lists the interview guest for each show. I believe McCain has also been an "unadvertised" guest a few times.
