In your opinion, When did the * administration "jump the shark"
I was considering asking this as a "poll question", but thought that there were too many opportunities vs. the six (?) options one is allowed to post in a poll. Perhaps some of you don't think the 'shark hasn't been jumped' OR you don't understand the question (google can be your friend?)....

....what say you?

Absolutely Katrina. The splash was heard shortly thereafter, and now
people are realizing that they're drenched in the backwash from that shark jumping, and they know no one will pay their cleaning bill. They're pissed.

18. Agree. They are so incompetent it is unbelievable. They wanted to
be in power sooo very bad. Then they got it and didn't have the slightest idea what to do. GWB and his band of idiots (Meirs, Gonzo, Brownie, etc) is just sad. Then there are the neocons Cheney, Bolton, Pearl, etc. thinking they were so tough that the World would bow to them. And then lets not forget the Christian Taliban. May they all rot in hell.

14. That's when I saw it start to tip, Katrina
People were shocked out of their complacency by the loss of a major city, the evacuation of its inhabitants who had survived a week of neglect thanks to the DHS clusterfuck FEMA was turned into, and Stupid's posing with a couple of photogenic black folks and saying how fine everything was now that he'd arrived on the scene.

The robbery of rebuilding money by family cronies hasn't helped. The continuing misery of folks who can't afford to rebuild houses on land their families had owned for generations is adding to it. The finger pointing in the aftermath that is still going on is adding to it.

Small government leaves people to die. People are starting to realize that at long last, along with the fact that the pResident is a callous, overgrown fratboy at best and a madman at worst.

20. Changed my mind, you are right When public saw media coverage of Katrina, then Brownie/bush
saying everything was under control. Media coverage of the massive destruction, mrbush giving stupidic platitudes about patience and help is on its way. I am very thankful enough media was there to show the disconnect.

5. Schiavo
That was the first time that most Americans saw through the scuminess.

Honorable mentions for the "jump the shark" moment being:

1. when no WMD were found in Iraq
2. when the Republican chair of the 9/11 commission demanded that Ms. Rice testify under oath because he was sick of the BS from the White House.
3. Katrina

Well, coupled with Gonzogate. It's all piling up. It is all so sad for all of us.

Gonzales has given a bad name to gonzo. I am so sorry, Hunter.

Remember? And he signed more death warrants than any governor in the history of the United States?

Hell, his whole political career has been built on death and lies and subsequent cover-up.

24. Before Afghanistan was completed, drumming up the Iraq Attack.
Attacking Iraq at that time was unwise.

Attacking Iraq with such a piss-poor drive to establish a true coalition was insane.

Attacking Iraq with falsified intelligence and no plan for post-war recovery was criminal madness.

Attacking Iraq was the shark jumping moment I think.

January 2005, when he went on tour to promote his Social Security privatization thing that nobody wanted, except maybe the guys who run mutual funds. About this time the typical American was starting to get clued into the fact that he's incompetent.

31. I think there's two times
I think the administration kind of jumped the shark multiple times, getting worse each time.

-Going to war in Iraq (it was when it was becoming obvious that we'd go to war that I started to see Bush & republicans for who they really were and not like them, I was still in high school then and grew up with in a house full of republicans).

-The troop surge plan, even after just about everyone says it'll never work (since then it seems that Bush has grown more isolated and out of touch with reality to).
