Monday Marks Deadliest Day for Fort Bragg NC Soldiers

Posted: 1 minute ago

Fort Bragg — Monday marked the single greatest loss of life for soldiers from Fort Bragg in more than five years of simultaneous deployment, according to Fort Bragg officials.

Nine paratroopers were killed and an additional 20 were injured Monday in a suicide car bombing against a patrol base northeast of the capital in Diyala province, a volatile area that has been the site of fierce fighting, the military said.

The soldiers were all with the 82nd Airborne. Base officials met with families Monday night and are making all base resources available. Names are not being released at this time.

The base was still going through records, but Monday might be deadliest day for base personnel since the 1994 training accident crash at Pope Air Force Base that killed 23 G.I.'s.

3. Yeah
it must be the "last throes of the insurgency" as Cheney said two years or so ago.

5. More targets = More casualties.

Unlike Lotto, every US soldier in Iraq is a winning ticket when they are harmed or killed. * brings it on again by upping the ante with this surge despite all logical reasons to re-deploy and get the hell out of there already.

Impeach these bastards. Does a BJ really outweigh murder when it comes to lying about it?
